Is there one Space Show or different Space Shows?
A. The Museum is currently showing one Space Show feature, Journey to the Stars, narrated by Academy Award–winning actress Whoopi Goldberg.

Is there assigned seating in the Space Show?
A. All of the seats in the Space Theater are excellent.
There is no assigned seating, but once you have purchased
a ticket for a particular show, you are guaranteed a seat
for that show time.

Is the Space Show appropriate for my child?
A. The Space Show has been designed to be appropriate and
enjoyable for all ages. Some content matter may be difficult
for young children to fully understand, but they will still
be able to enjoy the experience. Of course, every child is
different. Keep in mind that the environment inside the theater
is similar to a movie theater, in that it is dark, and the
audience is surrounded by sounds and images.

Can I bring my stroller into the Space Show?
A. Strollers are not allowed in the Space Theater. We
have an area where you may leave your stroller while you are
in the theater and you will be able to pick it up after you
exit the show.

Can my 2-year old sit on my lap and not have to pay for a
ticket?
A.
Children under 2 are admitted free and must sit on their parents'
laps.

Can I take pictures in the Space Show?
A. No photography, video, or audio recording is permitted
in the theater.

Are there listening devices for the hearing impaired in the
Space Show?
A. Yes. Please inquire in the pre-show area, before you
enter the Space Theater.

A. No, not at this time.

Are you showing laser shows in the new Hayden Planetarium?
A. No, laser shows have been discontinued in both the Hayden Planetarium and the IMAX® auditorium.

What time is the latest Space Show?
A.
Monday - Friday: Every half hour, 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. except Wednesdays (first show on Wednesday begins at 11:00 a.m.)
Saturday - Sunday: Every half hour, 10:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Hours are subject to change.
Q. If I don't order tickets to the Space Show in advance, will I be able to get in?
A. If you are interested in attending the Space Show on a particular date and time, we strongly encourage you to order tickets in advance. You may do so by calling 212-769-5200 or clicking here. Please know that every day, there are significant quantities of tickets available at the Museum for that day's Space Shows.
Q. What's the best way for me to get same day Space Show tickets at the Museum?
A. On Saturdays and Sundays, the best way to get same day Space Show tickets at the Museum is to be at the Museum when it opens, at 10:00am. On Monday through Friday, the greatest availability of same day tickets is in the afternoons. It is still best to get to the Museum by noon in order to maximize your chances of getting a Space Show ticket for that day.

How long is the Space Show?
A. The Space Show experience, including a pre-show, is approximately
40 minutes long.

If my schedule changes, can I exchange my ticket for another
time?
A.
All ticket sales are final and cannot be changed.

Is there parking at the Museum?
A. There is limited parking in our parking garage;
enter at 81st Street between Central Park West and Columbus
Avenue. The garage tends to fill up, especially on weekends;
if you are arriving at the Museum by car, please leave ample
time for parking in case the garage is full and you need to
go to an alternate garage. For our parking garage rates, click here.

Are there new restaurants? Shops?
A. There is a Museum Food Court, located on
the lower level that is a perfect place for families to have
lunch. Selections include sandwiches, pizza, grilled offerings,
salad bar, and more. There are several shops at the Museum,
including the three-story shop on the 2nd floor and the
Planetarium shop in the Rose Center.
